Welcome to Copenhagen!

Copenhagen has crossed paths with me more than once in my life.

The first time was sometime back in the 2000s, when we squeezed the main sights into a little over a day. The Little Mermaid, the Round Tower, the changing of the guards, Rosenborg Castle, Strøget — but what really stayed with me was the quiet moment enjoying a beer in front of the colorful houses of Nyhavn.

Then life happened, and over the past five years, I’ve ended up spending about half a year here, in different stretches. A few weeks here, a few days there. And even though I always stayed in hotels during those visits, I couldn’t help but absorb the rhythm and vibe of the city. It always felt good to be here, and more than once I caught myself wondering what it would be like to live on these streets — not as a guest, but as a local.

And now here I am — not just as a tourist or temporary visitor, but, after all those curious glances, as a resident of Copenhagen. And the feeling, the excitement? They haven’t changed at all.

There’s something about this city that draws you in — something that feels good from the very first moment. Honestly, I’ve never heard of anyone visiting and not loving it here.

They say Copenhagen is the happiest city in the world, and that happiness is something even visitors can feel. It’s enough to step off the plane, walk down any street in the city center, watch the smiling crowds of cyclists go by, sit down for a coffee, or just glance through the products in a local shop.

That calm joy and love of life the locals call Hygge is immediately noticeable — even if you’re just passing through. No matter your current life situation or whatever you might be going through, just being in Copenhagen can calm your mind and lift your spirits.

And now that I live here — and since I love food and love sharing the places I’ve visited — I created this website. I’d love to introduce you to Copenhagen’s popular and hidden corners, local food, and everyday customs.

Whether you’re here just for a day, staying a bit longer, or moving here for good, I hope the information I share helps you enjoy this city as much as I do.
